SEN Learning Support Assistant

A Primary School in Bristol are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work 1 to 1 with a Reception pupil who has ASD needs.

This School is part of a large Bristol school Trust who aspire to treat everyone inclusively and provide a holistic approach to their curriculum. The staff at this school create a stimulating and caring learning environment for the children to take risks and challenge themselves.

The Role:

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the SENDCo and Class Teacher to support a single pupil in the reception class.

The Head Teacher is looking for a candidate who is caring and enthusiastic to encourage this pupil to explore their social, emotional and educational development.

You will be expected to start this position as soon as possible on a Full-Time basis.

You will be expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to assess development.
  • Have high expectations for the individual to succeed.
  • Create a stimulating and purposeful environment
  • Be flexible and adapt activities based on the pupils' needs and emotional feelings.
  • Assess and communicate the individuals' successes and developments.
