Applications Support Team Leader

Venn Group are working with VisitEngland & VisitBritain to recruit a permanent Applications Support Team Leader to join their Business Services/Technology team.

VisitEngland & VisitBritain play a unique role in promoting tourism in the UK and supporting business growth in the tourism sector.

The Applications Support Team Leader will have responsibility for the development and support of business applications, working with suppliers and other IT colleagues to ensure robust provision is in place. The Applications Support Team Leader will lead and direct a small team of Application Engineers to create a customer focussed service for colleagues in the UK and globally.

Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: up to £45k per annum
Hybrid working: Flexible policy
Location: working from either the London or Birmingham offices

Responsibilities of the Applications Support Team Leader:

  • Manage a small team of applications/systems engineers prioritising and ensuring that they deliver ongoing developments to organisational applications
  • Provide 3rd line support for application issues escalated from the service desk
  • Manage the performance of the Applications Team reporting to internal customers via SLA's and KPI's
  • Support the delivery of critical projects that will enable the organisation to achieve its technology, digital and data ambitions
  • Manage documentation, including application data standards and procedure
  • Work with the Service Delivery Manager to implement the technology vision and strategy for business applications
  • Support a consistent approach to vendor management of IT suppliers across the organisation in partnership with colleagues in procurement

Desired skills and experience of the Applications Support Team Leader:

  • Proficiency in ITIL (v3 or v4)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft technologies (SharePoint, Azure, Windows)
  • Proven experience in a senior application support/analyst role
  • Demonstrable leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and relationship management abilities
  • Successful track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
