Quality Technician

Adept are pleased to be working with a leading Steel manufacturer based in Sheffield. As the business continues to grow significantly, we are recruiting for a dedicated Quality Technician to support the Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the thorough and accurate implementation of all quality control requirements at our Sheffield sites, fostering a Quality-focused culture that enhances performance and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain techniques and standard operating procedures as directed by the Quality Manager, promptly updating documents in response to production needs or technical directives.
- Effectively communicate existing quality systems and contract requirements.
- Compile and process documentation necessary for customer and product qualifications.
- Create certificates of conformity, ensuring products meet customer specifications prior to release.
- Issue salvage plans for defective products.
- Oversee mechanical testing processes.
- Identify and implement robust corrective actions based on root cause investigations, addressing customer complaints and internal non-conformances.
- Promote cost of quality improvements throughout the business unit, delivering training as needed.
- Participate in departmental quality meetings.
- Prepare and present quality statistics and reports.
- Assist with audits in line with the Group schedule.
- Support the NADCAP audit program.
Requirements:
- Structured, disciplined, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive and assertive approach with strong organisational skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
