We're on the hunt for committed Food Technology teachers in Leyland/Preston to motivate and guide KS3 and KS4 students. With daily rates between £155 and £230, your compensation will reflect your qualifications, experience, and teaching skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons in food preparation, nutrition, and food science. You will inspire students to explore their culinary creativity while teaching essential skills such as food safety, healthy eating, and sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning

  • Strong classroom management

Personal attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
