We are seeking a dedicated Health and Social Care Lecturer to join our School of Health, Social Care and Creative Studies. The successful candidate will possess a strong subject-based and pedagogic knowledge, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with professional and educational developments. This role goes beyond traditional teaching and encompasses all aspects of the learning process, including preparation, planning, assessment, and evaluation of students.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Teach on a range of programmes, including the Level 3 T Level Technical Qualification in Health and Science, BTEC RQF Health and Social Care Levels 1-4, and Access to Health Care Professions.
  • Develop and improve programmes of study relevant to your knowledge, qualifications, and experience.
  • Participate in student recruitment activities, providing accurate information and guidance.
  • Conduct student inductions and academic progress reviews.
  • Act as a named tutor where appropriate, ensuring student attendance, retention, and achievement.
  • Prepare students for employability, career progression, and/or further education.
  • Design and deliver engaging lesson plans, integrating IT and e-learning technologies.
  • Assess student progress regularly, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation as required by the College.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A strong motivation for professional development in both subject matter and teaching practices.
  • A Nursing degree and being registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Experience in teaching and learning within the Health and Social Care sector.
  • Ability to create inclusive learning environments and promote equal opportunities.
  • Proficiency in IT and e-learning technologies.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A flexible approach to work and the ability to participate constructively in College activities.
