Senior Engineer

Exciting opportunity alert! Join Thames Water's dynamic team as a Senior Engineer. Your role will involve maintaining and developing water networks to deliver life's essential services. Your contribution is vital in upholding high design, delivery, health, safety, and customer needs standards.

What you'll be doing as a Senior Engineer

  • Ensure Project Definition Briefs have proper technical outputs and deliver the right outcomes. You will achieve this through collaboration with internal stakeholders and delivery partners.
  • Maximise value through a focused understanding of risks and identifying appropriate mitigation that provides sustainable solutions.
  • Contribute to and continuously improve Technical Asset Standards and maintain awareness of industry developments and best practice.
  • Provide design sign-off between Asset Management and Capital Delivery as the gated delivery process dictates.
  • Provide technical assurance during the design development, delivery, commissioning and handover of assets. You will seek to identify opportunities and challenge the process to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Ensure that the design and delivery of projects incorporate Safety, health, and wellbeing practices and promote Thames Water's Zero Compromise policy. This will include undertaking site audits, technical compliance audits, and risk assessment reviews.

Hybrid - Maple Lodge, you must attend the office weekly and complete site visits as required by the business and role.

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

A full UK driving licence and access to a car are ideal for this role, but please still apply if you do not have these.

What you should bring to the role

  • Engineering HNC or HND / Degree within Civil Engineering.
  • Knowledge of design and development of project technical solutions and briefs in their specific discipline.
  • Understanding water infrastructure project delivery in various urban and environmentally. sensitive environments. This is desirable, but we are open to other backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of CDM, Health and Safety in the Construction and Utility industry.
  • Understanding key legislation, regulatory bodies and engineering best practices in the water and utility sector.
