We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Building Surveyor to join the team. This permanent position focuses on conducting day-to-day responsive repair surveys and Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our housing standards and ensuring the wellbeing of our residents.

As a small but dynamic organisation in the public sector, they are committed to maintaining and improving our housing stock to ensure safe, comfortable, and affordable homes for their residents.

Description

  • Conduct day-to-day responsive repair surveys to identify and diagnose maintenance issues in our housing stock.
  • Perform HHSRS assessments to ensure all properties comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide detailed reports and recommendations based on survey findings.
  • Liaise with contractors, residents, and other stakeholders to coordinate repair works and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Monitor and manage the quality of repair works carried out by external contractors.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, standards, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of surveys, assessments, and repairs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance strategies and policies.

Profile

  • Degree/HNC or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in conducting building surveys and HHSRS assessments, preferably within the social housing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, repair techniques, and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using surveying software and other relevant IT tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritising work effectively.
