We're inviting an enthusiastic and capable officer to join our efforts. This vital new role supports our environmental initiatives and contributes to the council's sustainability goals.

About the role

In this pivotal position, you will aid the creation of the council's new climate change strategy, and lead on climate related projects and programs with local communities and stakeholders to achieve net zero and climate resilience in West Oxfordshire. You will also work alongside various internal teams to embed climate considerations into their functions and on carbon reduction initiatives to reach carbon neutrality as an organisation by 2030.

About you

We seek an individual with a background in climate, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field, who has experience in climate action. The ideal candidate will be driven with strong initiative and advanced skills in problem-solving, organisational and project management, and engagement. A passion for addressing climate change is vital.
