Apprentice Service Desk Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic team of tech lovers in an award-winning provider of temporary Internet connectivity solutions. We are a North East based business who build and support the devices we deploy for each of their clients. We proudly serve some of the largest contractors in the UK on some of the largest, most high-profile projects and this is underpinned by the Service Delivery function.

What we're looking for

We are looking for a driven individual who is willing to learn and grow with the company, develop the product further and undertake challenges every day. The Ideal candidate will take on all aspects of the business, primarily handling day to day technical faults from clients' sites and resolving them. We'd love to bring someone into the team who is passionate about technology.

When not resolving technical problems, the candidate will be learning to build the bespoke equipment and fault find any broken components.

What you'll do and learn

  • Linux-based OS
  • Virtualisation, including KVM and Containers
  • Wired and Wireless networking on the Unifi platform
  • Virtual routers and firewalls
  • Network monitoring
  • Service Delivery Processes and Technical Resolutions
  • Hardware Investigations and Debugging
  • Hardware Assembly and Installation

As the company moves forwards in additional directions, opportunities may arise to work on projects involving AI and machine vision.

Entry Requirements

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Future Prospects:

  • There are senior members of the team who have previously done a QA apprenticeship. There will be a permanent position available at the end of the apprenticeship for the right candidate.
