Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join our team starting in September 2024. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and able to inspire students across a range of Humanities subjects, including History, Geography, and Religious Studies. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality education and contributing to the academic and personal development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Humanities subjects to students of varying abilities.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum and school policies.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and senior staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, school events, and initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational best practices and developments in Humanities education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant degree in a Humanities subject (History, Geography, Religious Studies, etc.).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Proven experience teaching Humanities subjects at the secondary school level.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for education.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience with exam preparation and assessment at the GCSE and A-Level.
  • Familiarity with the latest educational technology and its application in the classroom.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities related to the Humanities.
