Engineering Manager
A busy house builder have a requirement for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their Technical team to assist with the delivery of housing developments across the North West.
**About the role - Engineering Manager
Reporting to the Technical Director you will be responsible for controlling and coordinating all engineering information between external Consultants and internal departments. The role will cover from initial viability advice and design to design development, gaining technical consents and providing advice to all other departments as well as key subcontractors.
**Duties & responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility of the Engineering function including managing a team of Engineers
- Work closely with the land department to ensure a smooth transition of engineering information takes place
- Check all engineering drawings and details for accuracy and commercial suitability
- Apply for and secure statutory body approval of Engineering Design and ground remediation
- Attend design meetings with highways and drainage departments to ascertain requirements from a local authority perspective for new developments
- Procure site investigation information and engineering solutions
- Review technical information and provide value engineering solutions
- Complete, approve and formalise the details of all adoption agreements and monitor progress pursuing the reduction and release of outstanding bonds
- Assist the Technical Director to obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all geo-technical engineering design and technical reports
**Requirements for the Engineering Manager role
- Extensive experience of engineering issues gained within housebuilding industry e.g. roads and sewers, foundations, land drainage, utilities, etc A strong knowledge and appreciation of UK building regulations and health and safety requirements within the industry
- Engineering related qualification, degree or equivalent
- Previous experience leading a team of Engineers
- A thorough and up to date knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements related to residential construction
- A high level of proficiency in relevant design and technical based software like AutoCad
