**Job Summary

:

I'm seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Private Client Tax Accountant to join a well established tax team. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, families, ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance. You will be responsible for preparing tax returns, and ensuring adherence to the latest tax legislation.

**Key Responsibilities

:

  • Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare and file personal tax returns (Self-Assessment Tax Returns) for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates.

  • Manage tax compliance for various personal tax structures, including partnerships, sole traders, and non-domiciled clients.

  • Calculate and submit capital gains tax returns, inheritance tax reports, and other tax liabilities.

  • Ensure all compliance deadlines are met and assist clients with resolving any tax queries or disputes with HMRC.

  • Client Management:

  • Act as the primary contact for a portfolio of private clients, offering a high level of client service and maintaining strong relationships.

  • Liaise with clients to gather information, understand their tax position, and provide personalised tax advice.

  • Conduct regular reviews of clients' tax affairs, identifying potential risks or opportunities to optimise their tax position.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

  • Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, particularly those affecting private clients and trusts.

  • Ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and firm-wide procedures.

  • Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the broader tax advisory team and liaise with financial planners, lawyers, and other advisors as required to provide holistic advice.

  • Support junior members of the team, reviewing work and providing feedback where necessary.

**Qualifications & Experience

:

  • Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified (or equivalent).

  • Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in tax compliance within a private client or personal tax environment.

  • Proven experience managing tax affairs for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and partnerships.

  • Familiarity with UK tax legislation and HMRC requirements.

  • Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and trust taxation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters in a clear and concise manner.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.

  • Strong proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office applications.

**Desirable Attributes

  • Experience working with non-domiciled clients or international tax issues.
  • Client-oriented mindset with a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by high-net-worth individuals.
