Senior Employment Counsel, Global Financial Services Group

A global banking group with a rich history in the commercial and investment banking services are searching for a Senior Employment Counsel to join the Legal and HR functions. Heading up the day-to-day employment business needs including non-contentious and contentious work, the individual will be required to commute into the London office on a weekly hybrid basis.

You will be joining their EMEA business in their London headquarters.

Description

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal advice on all UK & European employment law issues, with the assistance of external counsel when needed
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of employment contracts & agreements
  • Handing employment disputes and litigation as and when needed
  • Providing training to HR and stakeholders on relevant matters
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in the Financial Services sector
  • Advising on changes to employment legislation and its impact on the business
  • Supporting the wider legal function on ad hoc matters

Profile

The successful applicant should:

  • Be qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales
  • The ability to act autonomously acting as point of contact for Employment Law matters
  • Knowledge of UK & European employment law and regulation
  • Proven experience within the Financial Services sector
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
  • The ability to commute into London on a weekly basis
