Menzies Distribution has an excellent opportunity for a Transport Administrator to join our Transport team based in our distribuution hub in Coventry.

THE DETAILS:

  • Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday / 6am - 3pm
  • Salary: £26,000
  • Location: Coventry, CV3 4PB

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Responsible for all administrative requirements relating to transport
  • Liaise with internal and external customers, suppliers and drivers
  • Ensure the timely despatch of outbound vehicles and track them on their journeys
  • Monitor the arrival of inbound vehicles and liaise with the warehouse team
  • Identify and monitor issues trends
  • Contribute ideas which will improve our ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Support the planning of routes
  • Ensure that the operation remains legally compliant through monitoring drivers' hours and downloading tachographs
  • Respond swiftly to breakdowns and vehicle defect reports
  • Ad-hoc administration duties

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail
  • A general understanding of transport legislation and logistics operations
  • Experience of producing reports and statistics in a timely manner
  • Experience of working in a customer focused, time sensitive environment with daily fluctuating workloads
  • Able to react quickly to information, helping solve any challenges to routes
  • Good computer skill -essential and experience using in-house transport management systems is an advantage
  • The drive and motivation to work night shifts
