Senior Cyber Security Engineer | £65,000- £75,000 | Bristol (Hybrid)
Role Overview: As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in protecting infrastructure and data. You will lead security assessments, design and implement robust security controls, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a security-first culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments and prioritize findings for remediation.
- Design, implement, and maintain application and infrastructure security controls.
- Implement and manage firewalls and other security measures to protect against breaches.
- Review and troubleshoot systems to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
- Report on security metrics and communicate results to Technology Operations management.
- Develop and maintain documentation on external threats and security protocols.
- Respond to and manage security incidents, coordinating across teams as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in system and network security, protocols, and best practices, including ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials controls.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, and data encryption.
- Proficient in risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods.
- Experienced in designing secure networks, systems, and application architectures.
- Proven track record in security engineering with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Education and Experience:
- Proven work experience in security engineering, with a track record of successfully leading projects and initiatives.
