Management Accountant

A reputable construction company is seeking a Management Accountant for a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. The role involves the preparation and review of Management Accounts for 2 entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing insightful analysis. The ideal candidate will be part-qualified in ACA, ACCA, or CIMA and have a minimum of two years of experience at a similar level within a construction or related industry.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Preparation and review of Management Accounts for two operational units, including budget vs actuals and forecast, ensuring delivery within tight deadlines.
- Analysis and investigation of results and variances, providing sound financial insights.
- Management of supplier relationships, payments, and the purchase ledger.
- Handling of bank payments and cashbook reconciliation.
- Calculation, presentation, and processing of VAT payments.
- Assistance in the production of the annual budget and periodic forecasting.
- Completion of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Reporting on company assets and liabilities, maintaining the Asset ledger.
- Responsibility for VAT, Intrastat, and CIS returns.
- Liaison with auditors and assistance with the preparation of statutory accounts and audit schedules.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA part-qualified.
- Minimum of two years of experience at a similar level, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Excel.
- SAP experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
- Team player with excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
