Salary: c£30,000 £35,000 depending on experience.

Our client is an innovative biotechnology company based outside of the centre of Cambridge. They have built a platform to synthesis DNA which provides exciting possibilities for ensuring cheaper, faster and more accurate DNA / gene constructs than traditional plasmid-based methods. In a key phase of their growth, our client is looking to hire a QA Officer to support the development and maintenance of QMS within a GMP compliant environment. If you are an experienced QA professional within the biotech / pharmaceutical GMP sector, this may be an opportunity of interest.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for Quality Assurance / QA / Quality Engineering professionals who have prior experience in GMP quality assurance and QMS experience within a biological or pharmaceutical setting. This role will involve working within an established Quality team as a Quality Assurance Officer and will involve the following:

  • Complete and support various QA related functions including documentation, CAPAs, risk management, change control, supplier management, training management etc.
  • Support internal and external (supplier / regulatory body) audits where required.
  • Support QMS maintenance via documentation control.
  • Work within GDP and GMP regulations.
  • Work on other areas of quality assurance.
  • Other responsibilities not listed above.

Skills and Experience Needed

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • BSc / MSc / PhD in a biological / biotechnology discipline (essential, or equivalent experience)
  • Must have existing Quality Assurance experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical sector (essential)
  • Previous GMP quality experience (essential)
  • Experience in maintaining and updating a Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant documents including deviation investigation, CAPAs, change control, non-conformance etc (essential)
  • High attention to detail, the drive to be a complete finisher and highly organised (essential)
  • Good communication skills (essential)
  • Must have full, long-term right to work in the UK (essential)
