Your new role

  • Manage the estimators' workloads and ensure the quotations go out accurately and on time.
  • Report weekly on the number of quotes going out to clients.
  • Manage the order processing to ensure orders are input accurately, obtaining delivery dates.
  • Report weekly on the activity.
  • Manage the installation departments time effectively, making sure purchase orders are raised, and incoming invoices are matched.
  • Look to see how they streamline the administration of this department, liaise and work with the department head.
  • Weekly report for first time Service and warranty
  • Oversea the service and aftercare manager and give support to improve the performance of this department

As a contracting business, they have daily variations on sites that they are working on, be it delays and not being able to start, to the scopes of work changing, abortive days due to the site not being ready. A large part of this job is capturing these variations and with actioning them to recover the company's money as a variation to the order. This entails talking to clients, project managers and subcontractors.
This job requires a commercial mind, the ability to talk to a wide range of personalities, importantly a can-do attitude.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • In order to do this, you really would need to have worked within the construction/ contracting industry.
  • Managed people and processes within a sales office environment for at least 5 years.

Be prepared to implement new processes.

  • Naturally, you will need previous experience in a similar role plus a high level of computer skills, word and excel.
