Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 based on experience

We are currently partnered with a leading aviation company which is renowned within their market. They are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to join their growing finance function.

Role Overview:

As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will oversee and manage the entire accounts payable function, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. You will play a critical role in maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, and leading the continuous improvement of our financial processes. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, global environment and make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, ensuring efficient daily operations.
  • Oversee the processing of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, resolving payment issues, disputes, and discrepancies.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with aviation industry regulations, tax laws, and internal controls.
  • Prepare monthly AP reports, including cash flow forecasts and ageing reports for senior management.
  • Implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce payment delays.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and smooth processes.
  • Oversee reconciliations, month-end closing processes, and internal/external audits.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Manager, ideally within the aviation or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment.
