ECTs Wanted!

Position: Early Careers Teacher (ECT)
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Salary: £100 - £150 Per Day

Overview:

Are you an ECT who has just completed the intensive teacher training and acquired your QTS? Are you searching for your first teaching job? At Veritas we understand that finding the perfect role can be difficult and we are actively hunting for dedicated, charismatic ECTs to join our team and support us in ensuring all children in the Burnley area have access to the highest standard of teaching.

What We Offer:

We can help you to find teaching work in schools on a supply basis, as well as long term full-time/part-time contracts to contribute to your ECT years. Here are the benefits of beginning your teaching career on a supply basis, with one eye on the future long-term aspirations:

  • Gain experience teaching across all year groups to find year group best suited to you.
  • Explore different schools in different demographics to find where you best thrive.
  • Flexible working hours and commitment to any one school isn't required until you know it is the right fit for you.
  • Less planning and marking time as work is often set for you.
  • Allows you to build a relationship with schools and often leads to something more long term when both parties (you and the school) are happy.

12.5% of ECTs reportedly leave education within the first year of teaching, and this number rises to 23% by the third year. We believe that this is because people rush into a position before they are 100% sure that it is the right environment for them. The role of a teacher is incredibly challenging, so there is no need to add extra pressure by working in an environment that doesn't make you happy and welcome. If you are looking to find work in schools and build up your experience then we can help you!

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and completion of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) program.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
