We are currently working with an outstanding school in Kensington and Chelsea who are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to start working with them this September. This award-winning setting has pupils with MLD, SLD, ASD and other associated learning disabilities. They have an excellent team in place to support you to get the best outcome for the pupils. The school will be offering ongoing professional development and support in the workplace.
You will be working closely with a pupil with complex needs in Year 1 and you will be required to work on a one to one basis and in groups delivering lessons and supporting them in their daily routines. You will be following an Individual Learning Plan tailors specifically for the child which will include academics, social skills and life skills. Compassion, understanding and patience are all qualities you will need to succeed in this position long term.
Requirements:
- Be able to provide two references from the past 2 years
- Enhanced DBS which is registered on the update service – if you do not have this already, we can assist with application
- Right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship
- Safeguarding and Prevent Training
These would be an asset:
- Experience using Team Teach or another form of certified physical restraint
