Job Title: Big Plant Machinery Mechanic/Technician (Site Based)

Location: Kirkby, Liverpool, Merseyside

Salary: Up to £50,000 annually, Depending on Experience

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Big Plant Machinery Mechanic/Technician to join our team, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our diverse fleet operations, which includes big plant machinery.

Job Description:

As a Big Plant Machinery Mechanic/Technician, your primary responsibility will be to perform maintenance, repair, safety inspections, and fault finding on our extensive fleet of big plant machinery, which includes but is not limited to crushers, excavators, loaders shovels, screeners and other heavy plant equipment. This role is site-based only.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Equipment Maintenance: Conduct maintenance and repairs on a variety of big plant machinery to ensure they are safe, reliable, and compliant with industry standards.
  2. Safety Inspections: Perform routine safety inspections on the machinery to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  3. Fault Finding: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and other issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  4. Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize performance.
  5. Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  6. Compliance:
    Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a mechanic/technician, preferably in the field of big plant machinery or heavy construction equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications and qualifications in equipment maintenance and repair.
