Job Advert: Chef at a Special Needs School
We are currently searching for a talented and experienced Chef to join our team at a special needs school. As the Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our students and staff receive nutritious and delicious meals that cater to their special dietary needs.
Responsibilities:
- Daily meal preparation and service for approximately 10 students and 20 staff members
- Adhering to clear instructions provided to ensure allergies and dietary requirements are met
- Creating menus that are balanced and meet the specific needs of our students
- Managing inventory, including ordering and stock rotation
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborating with other members of the staff to create a positive dining experience for our students
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Chef, preferably in a school or similar environment
- Knowledge of special dietary needs and experience in catering to them
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A passion for food and a creative approach to menu planning
- Flexibility to accommodate changes in dietary requirements or student/staff numbers
- A current enhanced DBS check (if you do not have this, we can assist in applying on your behalf)
