Head of Contract Management

Stonewater are looking to appoint a Head of Contract Management - someone to contribute to the overall asset management function, with specific accountability for supporting the delivery of quality, performance, and cost of all repairs contracts.

Within the role, you'll provide support in the oversight and management of all repairs contracts to ensure quality, performance and cost management is delivered for Stonewater. You'll ensure key metrics around quality, performance and cost are developed, maintained, and reported on a monthly basis, ensuring the highest levels of governance, control and financial probity and controls are in place in all contracts, and ensure value for money and cost control is achieved and maintained. You'll work collaboratively with the Homes directorate and key partners for our main repairs contracts and manage a team of Cost Managers and Property Inspectors.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a degree (or equivalent) with a professional qualification in contract management, cost management and/or quality assurance.
  • Have proven experience of developing, sustaining, and managing large repairs and maintenance contracts across a national geographical area.
  • Have a track record of improving quality, performance, and cost management across large, national repairs contracts.
  • Have experience of developing and maintaining cost control (with a focus on value for money).
  • Have experience of working with matrix management responsibility which is operating and collaborating across wide areas of the business.
  • Have an excellent understanding of different types of costs and cost management across repairs contracts, with the ability to report facts.
  • Have excellent tactical thinking ability, with excellent verbal and numerical reasoning skills.
  • Be able to maintain clear visibility of changing economic/social environments which have the capacity to impact service delivery.
  • Have highly developed communication skills, able to present to a range of audiences.
  • Be able to assess performance, quality, and cost information and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Have knowledge of building law, regulation, building contracts, contract law and health & safety legislation and best practice.

Due to the nature of the role, we also ask that you are flexible and able to travel as and when required by the business.
