Conveyancing Assistant

As a Conveyancing Assistant with at least two years, you will work for the team manager in our property department based at our Northampton office. This will be a mixed role with responsibility for certain tasks in a matter as well as the general administration for the matter.

The ideal candidates will have an understanding of legal principles, and procedures, and document preparation. The successful candidates will be responsible for client satisfaction, case progression, preparing documents, and assisting with a variety of other tasks. We are looking for an individual who is highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills.

Your role will include the following:

  • To assist in the provision of administrative and legal services for clients;
  • Provide friendly day to day contact with clients and an efficient service for their individual lifestyle requirements;
  • Produce plain English letters, documents, applications and other forms as required;
  • Manage professionally and confidentially, written and telephone correspondence with clients, other solicitors and third parties;
  • To assist where requested the provision of legal updates to clients, under supervision.
  • Take notes in client meetings;
  • Continue to develop your legal ability;
  • Mentoring for progression.

Qualifications:

  • Required: 2+ years conveyancing experience;
  • Ideal: Degree in law with a focus on property.

Person Specification:

  • Able to work to tight deadlines;
  • Good Microsoft skills particularly word and excel;
  • Good customer focus;
  • Flexible and proactive approach with 'can do' attitude;
  • Organised and able to prioritise;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work with figures.
