HGV Mechanic
Salary: £17.95ph to £22.80ph
Location: Greetham
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30 - 17:30, Saturdays 07:30 - 13:00 (as part of a rota)
On Call/Out of Hours: As part of a rota
Our clients are one of the country's leading haulage transport companies, specialising in agricultural business. Their continued success has created an exciting opportunity for a skilled and dedicated HGV Mechanic to join their team.
As an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of HGV vehicles and specialist trailers. You will work both independently and as part of a team to troubleshoot issues and ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and servicing on HGV vehicles and trailers, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
- Meet strict deadlines while maintaining the quality of work and adhering to operational guidelines.
- Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in the on-call and out-of-hours rota as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure fleet maintenance runs smoothly.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
Candidate Requirements
- Technical qualification (Level 2 or above) or relevant experience in maintaining and repairing HGV vehicles and trailers.
- Ability to work under pressure and within set deadlines.
- Awareness of and adherence to health and safety requirements.
- HGV licence (an advantage but not essential).
