An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ESG Data Analyst/Scientist to be at the heart of the fast-paced ESG Integration work. This critical role embeds the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data into operating models to support investment decisions, risk assessments and the development of policy positions. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with vast complicated sets of ESG data to get insights and contribute to the standardisation of ESG metrics across the business

As an ESG Data Analyst/Scientist, you will be at the forefront of analysing and interpreting complex ESG data sets. You will collaborate with various stakeholders across the organisation, providing them with valuable insights derived from your analysis. Your role will involve prototyping new metrics using Python, building web applications for self-service data access, creating user-friendly dashboards for clients, and continuously improving data quality tests. You will also play a crucial part in contributing to the standardisation of ESG metrics across the business.

  • Perform exploratory data analysis of new datasets to understand their meaning and implications
  • Analyse and explain existing datasets to our increasing internal user base
  • Work closely with internal business stakeholders and prototype new metrics using Python
  • Build simple, robust web apps to provide self-service data access and industry-leading analytical tools
  • Devise flexible visualisations that enable users to explore large datasets and gain data insights
  • Create sophisticated and user-friendly dashboards for external clients
  • Continuously improve data quality tests, monitor them and drive the resolution on data issues
  • Contribute to the standardisation of ESG metrics across the business by specifying and documenting methodologies

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this ESG Data Analyst/Scientist role is someone who brings a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability. You should have experience with analysing very large datasets, ideally using the Cloudera Data Platform. Proficiency in data modelling, error-handling, version control and testing is essential. Experience with database querying, load, update, and transformation using SQL is required. Substantial experience with using Python to analyse data using standard analytical libraries such as Pandas is a must. Familiarity with modern data visualisation platforms, ideally Tableau, is also necessary.
