Our client, experts in the freight forwarding industry, offering Ocean Freight, Air Freight and Road Haulage Solution are looking to recruit a Commercial Co-ordinator to be based in Bradford, Yorkshire.

Main Purpose of the role:

The Commercial Co-ordinator will play a key role that contributes directly to the profitability of the company, involving taking customer enquiries, providing quotations and gaining new business. You will be expected to be proactive in the role and maintain and develop business relationships. Effective communication and close team working is key.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Commercial Co-ordinator:

  • Dealing with customers queries/enquiries via telephone/email.
  • Calculate and advise rates to customers & the external sales team
  • Provide customers with quotes as requested/required.
  • Deal with Invoice and price disputes.
  • Work with rate sheets.
  • Develop and grow long term relationships with customers and shipping companies
  • Price up bookings and monitor and maintain pricing inbox.
  • Networking and undertaking research, where necessary, to keep ahead of competition
  • Persuading customers our high service levels will satisfy their requirements in terms of quality, service and price.
  • Interpreting and managing customer requirements - speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet there needs
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties required by the business within your capability

To Be Considered:

  • Good level of education in Maths and English
  • Previous experience of working in a commercial environment or in a commercial coordinator / internal sales position within the freight forwarding sector would be an advantage however, not essential as training will be given.
  • Experience of working in import/export freight forwarding would be an advantage
