Our client is seeking a sous chef for the traditional pub in the Chelmsford area. This venue boasts a 50 seater restaurant with 30 covers outside in the summer months. Menus are traditional English fayre with a twist and are prepared from fresh ingredients sourced locally.
Sous chef role
- In charge of the kitchen in the absence of the head chef.
- Stock ordering
- Assist in the develop of junior chefs in the brigade.
- Ensure the highest standard of food service is always delivered.
- produce dishes to a high standard
- Accurate physical stock takes of all food within the restaurant.
- Manage portion and waste control
Ideal candidate
- You must have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Passionate about food and keeping up to date with current food trends and cooking techniques.
- Good leadership skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong team player
