Our client is seeking a sous chef for the traditional pub in the Chelmsford area. This venue boasts a 50 seater restaurant with 30 covers outside in the summer months. Menus are traditional English fayre with a twist and are prepared from fresh ingredients sourced locally.

Sous chef role

  • In charge of the kitchen in the absence of the head chef.
  • Stock ordering
  • Assist in the develop of junior chefs in the brigade.
  • Ensure the highest standard of food service is always delivered.
  • produce dishes to a high standard
  • Accurate physical stock takes of all food within the restaurant.
  • Manage portion and waste control

Ideal candidate

  • You must have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Passionate about food and keeping up to date with current food trends and cooking techniques.
  • Good leadership skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong team player
