This is a unique opportunity to join our team of Energy and Engineering experts on a 9-12 month fixed term contract basis to provide project support to the Energy and Engineering team. We are looking for a creative individual to harmonise energy data from various sources and create reports whom will also work amongst our engineers to support the delivery of a series of interesting energy consumption reduction / compliance initiatives.

About the role

This role is unique as it provides some fantastic experience in 2 vitally important arms of the Property team; one responsible for managing the purchase and management of energy across the Boots retail estate and the other designing and delivering compliant, energy conscious engineering solutions again across the Boots retail estate. You will report into the Sustainability Manager (Energy and Carbon reduction) & the Principle Project Engineer (time will be split evenly between the 2 roles) whilst working closely with the Energy Manager, Energy Analyst and Engineers.

Energy team support (data focussed) includes but is not limited to:

  • Data analysis for projects, initiatives, and issues
  • Map data routes from all utility related reports
  • Capture differences / caveats used for the different reports generated (Eon vs Inspired etc)
  • Design a data route that provides one version of the truth
  • Identify any gaps / opportunities to expand current reports
  • Assist with interpreting reports from metering partners

Engineering team support (project focussed) includes but is not limited to:

  • Oversight and evaluation of energy reduction trial projects (5 key projects)
  • Solar PV and working with Programme Management Office to create a task list.
  • Support in phasing out of 3G as a comms tool for certain systems
  • Support the Technical Escalations process

What you'll need to have

  • Competent and experienced in the use of MS Word, PowerPoint and an in-depth knowledge and expertise in Excel is essential
  • The interpretation and creation of data driven reports.
  • Experience of working with data

It would be great if you also have

  • Power BI knowledge and experience (or able to demonstrate experience is bringing together different data sources to create a dashboard).
  • Project management knowledge and experience
  • An understanding of / experience in construction or the built environment or an energy / sustainability related role (this experience will very much be provided).
  • Knowledge / experience of the energy industry.
  • Great communication / collaboration skills and experience
