Profile of the role:

A rewarding role within a growing not-for-profit organisation based in the North East of England.
In this role you will engage your strong technical awareness and credibility in the Biologics and/or Pharma-manufacturing sector to build strong and productive relationships with external partners.

Core duties will include:

  • Identify and explore industry networks through a variety of approaches including at industry networking events, contacting relevant businesses and ensuring consistent and clear visibility in your space.
  • Draft and present credible and compelling literature and proposal documents, taking into account the solution-focused approach your customer needs to help their business and product flourish.
  • Maintain a thorough technical awareness in the Biologics and/or Pharma manufacturing space in order to advise and guide customers effectively.
  • Utilise the CRM system in order to maintain an accurate sales pipeline and manage customer interactions.
  • Present qualified business development data to support various internal relationship-building activity as well as stakeholder reporting and monitoring (to grant funding bodies for example).
  • Working collaboratively with all operations teams within the business, such as Quality and Health and Safety to uphold the stringent protocols necessary along with adhering to GMP and Data Integrity at all times.

Your background:

  • BSc or equivalent in a Life Science discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in a business development role, from within the Biologics or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing sector.
  • Capable user of a CRM for both tracking and analysing data.
  • Able to offer up elegant solutions to complex problems, exercise active listening skills and match business offerings accordingly.
  • Technically minded, able to explore a customer's needs from a Science perspective and act as the interface between the customer brief and the relevant service or solution advised.
  • Strong eye for detail, enjoys both the courtship and relationship-building sales element.
  • It would be helpful to have an understanding of grant processes or public funding mechanisms which support R&D innovation in the SME and academic spaces.
  • Well-developed account management skills with the desire to collaborate and innovate.
  • Agile and able to work in a dynamic environment with a wide range of projects running at any one time.
