We are seeking an Area Housing Manager responsible for leading and developing an operational area team to deliver an exceptional tenancy and estate management service. This role is pivotal in meeting the diverse needs of tenants and leaseholders, improving the quality of life for all service users, and ensuring the team provides an efficient, effective, and professional service.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and motivate an area team to deliver customer-focused services and drive improved standards of tenant and estate services.
  • Manage the performance and conduct of the team to ensure targets and objectives are met.
  • Provide regular performance feedback, coaching, and training to staff.
  • Attend meetings and training events to contribute to the effective running of the service.
  • Proactively identify risks and work in partnership to adhere to safeguarding processes and procedures.
  • Support the Housing Manager in implementing service improvements.
  • Manage and monitor elected member casework and ensure excellent housing outcomes for residents.
  • Monitor area budgets to ensure value for money and improvements to the living environment.
  • Address ASB, harassment, and criminality with proactive and successful resolution strategies.
  • Investigate and resolve customer or service complaints within set timescales.
  • Promote tenant and leaseholder empowerment and involvement.
  • Represent the service at various forums, meetings, and community events.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports as required.
  • Ensure adherence to legal, statutory, and other relevant provisions.
  • Develop, review, and update operational procedures to enhance service efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in tenancy and estate management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in budget management and financial regulations.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and safeguarding procedures.
