Additional Needs Support Assistant - Liverpool
Tradewind Recruitment are working with an SEND Primary School in Liverpool who are looking to recruit some term time only Additional Needs Support Assistants. The school supports children aged 2-11 years old who have severe or profound learning and/or physical needs. Some of the children also have a diagnosis of Autism.
In January 2024, the school was graded as Outstanding by Ofsted.
Responsibilities:
- To work in collaboration with teachers as part of a professional team.
- Provide specialist assistance to pupils who need help to over come barriers to learning e.g. sensory, behavioural, communication, medical or physical difficulties.
- Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
- Implement planned activities as agreed with the teacher.
- Support the teacher in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress.
Requirements:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Be able to carry out physical intervention when necessary in accordance with the schools policies.
- Experience working in a challenging environment
- A good knowledge of ICT
- A DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
