The role of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in schools are multifaceted, designed to support both the teaching staff and students in various capacities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
- Lead small group activities and interventions to support student progress and achievement.
- Provide targeted support to students with additional needs, ensuring inclusive and accessible learning opportunities for all.
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and assessment of lessons and learning materials.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a collaborative learning community.
The successful candidate will:
- Relevant experience working in a primary educational setting, preferably as a HLTA.
- A Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting teaching and learning activities.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
