Administrative Assistant (12-Month Contract)

Location: Brackley (Office-Based)
FLEXIBLE HOURS - FULL OR PART TIME (M-F)
Salary: £24,000 per annum (Full-Time Equivalent)

Our client, a professional services firm, is seeking a personable and highly organised *** Administrative Assistant *** to support core office operations during a 12-month maternity cover. This is a key administrative and front-of-house role, ideal for someone who thrives in a professional environment and enjoys interacting with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for clients and visitors, managing reception duties professionally and efficiently.
  • Handle inbound calls and respond to client enquiries by phone and email.
  • Scan, electronically file, and manage documentation securely.
  • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing post.
  • Prepare standard letters and business documents.
  • Coordinate the collection of books and records with clients when required.

Candidate Profile:

  • Professional presentation with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Friendly, proactive attitude and a strong team ethic.
  • Experience handling confidential documents and correspondence.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel; familiarity with bespoke software is desirable but not essential.
  • High attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Prior knowledge of accountancy procedures is helpful but not required.

Working Pattern & Flexibility:

  • Full-time hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).
  • Flexible working hours will be considered—for example, finishing at 3:00pm, 3:30pm, 4:00pm or 5:00pm — depending on candidate requirements (mornings (9:00am onwards) must always be covered).
  • The position is based in the office in Brackley.
  • Salary will be pro rata based on hours worked.
