Reed Business Support in Cambridge are working with an exciting new venture who are seeking a passionate Sous Chef/Junior Chef to join their vibrant Mediterranean bistro, specialising in delicious breakfast and lunch offerings. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual eager to refine their culinary skills and contribute to a dynamic kitchen team with no evening working required!

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of breakfast and lunch menus with a focus on Mediterranean cuisine.
  • Work under the guidance to learn kitchen operations and dish presentation.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety.
  • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
  • Help in the development of new dishes and menus.
  • Ensure ingredients and supplies are stocked and fresh.
  • Keep the kitchen environment clean and organised.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Some professional kitchen experience is required.
  • A passion for Mediterranean cuisine and a willingness to learn new cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
