Senior Governance Officer - Remote - UK Charity
Do you have experience providing executive, governance-level support?
A national health, fitness, and recreation charity has recently launched its brand-new multi-year strategy, and they couldn't be more excited.
Within this role you will support the strategic engagement with the Board of Trustees, supporting the Chief Operating Officer in all governance related matters. Actively working closely with the Programme management and governance team, Board, the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will ensure the effective governance of the charity going forward..
Providing exceptional support and management, you will:
- Provide a secretariat function for Board and Committee meetings ensuring the timely preparation of draft agendas based on annual requirements, previous minutes and organisational priorities.
- Maintain oversight of the forward work plan and agendas of all governance meetings, ensuring that key strategic issues and topics are discussed.
- Develop and maintain the annual governance calendar, including the planning of Board, Committee, SLT and staff engagement meetings, and the coordination of all physical and logistical arrangements.
- Lead on the drafting of Board and Committee papers relating specifically to governance matters.
You will also oversee and implement the annual Trustee Election process, ahead of an upcoming board recruitment drive later this year, while also managing the Trustee onboarding process.

It is crucial that you have operated in a similar environment, and therefore have experience in a role which has encompassed charity governance and senior / Board level executive support.
