Key Responsibilities - Machine Operative (FMCG Focus):
As a Machine Operative, you will play a critical role in the production of FMCG hygiene products. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Operating specialised FMCG production machinery including:
- Fabric Conversion Machines that stack and fold dry fabric into wet wipe stacks.
- Flow Wrapping Equipment for wrapping wet wipe stacks into packaging.
- Pick and Place Systems that automatically place products into cases.
- Case Erectors assembling flat boxes into cartons for shipment.
- Palletising Equipment that stacks finished products onto pallets efficiently.
- Production Line Collaboration:
- Work closely within a fast-paced team environment to meet strict daily and weekly production targets in the FMCG sector.
- Quality Assurance: Perform regular quality checks ensuring every baby wipe and toiletry product meets the highest hygiene and safety standards as expected in FMCG manufacturing
- Health & Safety: Strictly follow health, safety, and hygiene protocols specific to FMCG production lines. Identify and report any machinery faults or hazards immediately.Maintain the cleanliness and operational efficiency of your machines and workspace, adhering to rigorous FMCG industry standards.Keep your work area clean, minimise waste, and report any process issues to ensure continuous production flow.
Working Hours:
- Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off
- Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
- Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Rotation: 2 days, 2 nights, then 4 days off
- Flexibility: Must be available to work both day and night shifts
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 1 year of Machine Operative experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment — experience in food, beverage, toiletries, or baby wipes production or similar is essential.
- Proven ability to work with complex FMCG machinery in a hygienic, high-standard environment.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills (to be tested during interview).
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Comfortable with basic documentation—both written and digital; basic PC skills are beneficial.
