About the Role...

Our Finance function are excited to present a new opportunity in EG Group for an Assistant Financial Controller to join our Head Office! The successful candidate will be jointly responsible for leading and managing the Country Finance function.

There will be a team of Senior Finance Managers reporting directly into the Assistant Financial Controller, who will themselves manage a series of Senior Management Accountants, Management Accountants and Assistant Management Accountants.

Reporting directly into the Financial Controller, you will be expected to lead and manage the delivery of month end and year end audit, with a view to continually improving and developing both the team and processes.

You would be relied upon to be a source of knowledge and expertise within Country Finance team and be expected to guide the development of non-qualified and qualified colleagues alike.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports accounting management, particularly the financial controller
  • Assists in formulating internal controls, ensure compliance with regulations and accounting guidelines
  • Preparation of Statutory Financial Statements
  • Planning and management of audit. Ownership of key deliverables
  • Deliver group and operational support on key requirements and initiatives
  • Provide leadership to the FSS team in the entity structure
  • Enable and Unlock - Implement the structure
  • Process management
  • Current internal controls: SBS/Journals/Pack/Tracker
  • New internal controls: Payroll, Ifrs16, sales, month end reporting
  • Local stats: Preparation of local stat pack and process management
  • Reporting: Cash to Revenue, impairment, SAP vs BI, fuel analysis, BAU commercial BP, supervisory board, annual requests, balance sheet quality, cashflow

Qualifications / Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • 7+ Years Post Qualified Experience
  • Experience in year end audit and month end clos
  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS16 accounting treatment
  • Experience of business partnering, financial reporting and commercial analysis desirable
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment, to multitask, to get into detail where needed and to meet deadlines on a timely basis
  • Strong relationship and communication skills
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and experience of SAP and Qube desirable
