Description
- Lead on all contract and commercial matters on design/build programmes/projects, fulfilling all contract duties including but not limited to contract adherence, change management and reporting
- Lead on contract/commercial activities relating to subcontractor/supplier tendering, estimating, cost analysis, contract negotiation and award
- Effective contract management to minimise risk exposure and participating in risk management review meetings and providing input into the risk register
- Cost management accounting and good reporting practices including project accruals, cash flow forecasting, managing vendor/subcontractor payment assessment, account reconciliation and preparing the applications for payment
- Preparing and agreeing project final accounts and project closeout
- Management of contract change and change control including assessing changes and compensation events/variations/claims
- Producing monthly cost reports, accruals and forecasts and providing cost and contract performance commentaries feeding into various customer and board reports
- Support project and programme lessons learnt process
- Mentoring and development of junior members of staff
- Work with the Project Managers and Planning function to ensure robust development of plans, forecasts and monitoring earned value
- Work cross functionally to develop and improve contract/commercial processes and governance
Profile
The successful candidate will have experience with public sector contracts and / or an understanding of frameworks involved and experience with NEC3 ECC forms and/or other similar forms of contract in a similar role
