Site Engineer

Here at Contract Personnel, we are recruiting an experienced Site Engineer to provide support to multiple projects within the Norfolk and Suffolk area. The projects involved can range from Domestic and Commercial buildings, Highways and Infrastructure, as well as Drainage, Piling and Earthworks.

The purpose of the role is to set out site controls, as well as providing detailed engineering drawings, ensuring that checks are regularly completed.

Main Responsibilities

Health, Safety and Environmental

  • Continuous compliance with company procedures and legal obligations
  • Compliance with environmental rulings, as well as enforcing them
  • Deliver work in a safe and timely manner

Quality

  • Promote the best practice
  • Compliance with company protocol and procedures
  • Delivery work to a high standard, with no defects or snags
  • Identifying and highlighting engineering opportunities

Site Engineering

  • Establishing the level and survey control for contracts
  • Provide detailed works as per engineering drawings, ensuring quality checks throughout
  • Accurate recording of works and ensuring quality assurance
  • Carrying out surveys throughout the scheme
  • Resolving technical issues and any problems along the way
  • Maintaining work diaries, records and timesheets

Key targets

  • Accurate and timely setting out of works
  • Handover of works and quality assurance records without defects
  • Accurate record taking, drawing registers and weekly diaries

Relationships

- Create strong working relationships between customer workforce and the customer's technical representative

Essential

  • Experience of working on civil engineering projects
  • Deep knowledge of construction methods, health & safety and legal obligations
  • Strong experience of working with Trimble Robotic Total Station and Trimble GNSS GPS survey equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Self-managing, self-driven and positive
  • Clean UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience of using AutoCAD
  • CSCS card
  • First Aid at Work training course/qualification

The Role:

Salary: Up to £42,000 (experience dependant)

Hours: Varied

Location: Covering mostly Norfolk and Suffolk (sometimes further afield)

Overtime: Readily available at 1.5x, weekend nights or bank holidays at 2.0x
