Salary - Up to £83,000 (Depending on experience and suitability for the role)

What will I be doing?

Acting as an enabler of change on both a strategic and tactical level to support delivery of the AWE vision and mission through effective application of process improvement principles and methodologies, including the provision of facilitation support, coaching and expertise to the organisation on improvement activities.

The key focus for the role will be in leading a team of Enterprise Excellence Business Partners, working with operational areas to deliver the Operations Transformation programme, to embed and sustain new ways of working, systems and improvement tools.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deploying the Enterprise Excellence vision and strategy for the areas in which their staff are deployed, in line with the overall Business Strategy whilst ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and business requirements.
  • Ensuring Enterprise Excellence policies, procedures, processes and management systems are in place which meet business, regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with Programme/Projects/Functions and associated stakeholders to ensure delivery to requirements. Leading on implementing integrated business processes that meet all business needs and deliver best practice.
  • Line management and leadership of a team within Enterprise Excellence including effective delegation and coaching of staff.
  • Driving a culture of Excellence across the Business by establishing ways of working that enable 'Everyone - Improving Delivery - Everyday'.
  • Establishing suitable governance, monitoring and reporting of Enterprise Excellence performance across the Business to assure customer and regulatory standards are achieved in line with the Head of Operations Transformation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and promote high standards in Quality, ESH, Quality and Enterprise Excellence.
  • Assuring appropriate Enterprise Excellence systems, processes and plans are implemented across all projects and functions to comply with customer, regulatory and business requirements.
  • Support the Head of Operations Transformation in stakeholder engagement with the AWE Executive, Tier 2 community, transformation team, process owners, and the customer and external stakeholder groups to maximise the benefits and opportunities of sharing best practice within the subject matter arena
  • Acting as a role model, coaching and developing a proactive Excellence culture, sharing best practice principles, highlighting and rewarding examples to support understanding.
  • Define and deliver a plan for deploying and embedding Enterprise Excellence across the Business that aligns and delivers to the Businesses goals resulting in improved mission success and workforce engagement.
  • Drive change in culture and behaviours using Excellence principles by continuous application and maturation improve Enterprise Excellence ways of working in the Business.

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant subject and/or a suitable vocational qualification (HND or equivalent) and/or extensive practical experience in an Operational Excellence/ Continuous Improvement/ Manufacturing role, environment or function.
  • Trained in the use of process improvement techniques and/or other related problem-solving tools ideally at Black Belt level or equivalent.
  • Ability to come up with creative and innovative solutions/ways of working/methodologies.
  • Experience forging positive relationships with and influencing stakeholders with an ability to communicate effectively.
  • Experience of leading successful change and transformation.
  • Ability to manage a wide portfolio of complex and inter-related activities.

All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
