Salary: £25k – £30k pa

Permanent – Full time - Mon-Fri: 07:30 to 16:00

Furniture by Martin is an established manufacturer, specialising in bespoke furniture and joinery for our trade partners in both the commercial and residential sectors.

We use traditional skills along with cutting edge technology. Our modern, well equipped, state of the art workshop is situated in the beautiful village of Penn Street, Buckinghamshire. Our clientele is based in London and the home counties.

We focus on customer care and quality assurance to produce high end furniture and joinery.

What we are looking for is an enthusiastic, self-motivated and forward-thinking individual to become the operator of our Automated Furniture Spraying Machine. The ideal candidate must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining efficiency and quality. They will need to work well as part of a team and work closely with the Production Manager and Team Leader to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

Previous experience in the furniture-making or finishing industry would be beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided.

The Role: As our spray line machine Operative, you will be responsible for:

  • Daily running & maintaining the spray line machine
  • Setting the machine ready for priming and top coating. Checking the top coat colours are correct & match the colour charts
  • Sanding back between primer & top coating in a timely manner
  • High quality control will be a crucial element of this job. Attention to detail is vital for us to maintain our high-quality standards.
  • Maintaining the spray shop area, making sure equipment is maintained, the shop floor is kept tidy and stock is checked & well organised on a weekly basis
  • Temperature management of the dry room – making sure consistent & fire heating system kept stocked.
