Accounts Senior Halesowen Full-time (35-hrs over 5-days), Flexitime working available £35k - £40k depending on experience

Are you an experienced Accounts Senior with a general practice skill set, looking for a long-term career in a fantastic regional practice?

We are currently searching for an experienced, enthusiastic accounts senior who is either ACA / ACCA qualified with at least 12-months post-qualification experience or part qualified with 5/6 years' experience join our well established, ever-growing client.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of client matters involving, but not limited to –
  • Self-employed and partnership accounts
  • Personal tax returns and partnership tax returns, including for some high-net-worth individuals
  • Statutory accounts preparation (FRS105 and FRS 102(1a) mainly, some IFRS for UK subsidiaries of international groups)
  • Corporate tax returns
  • Quarter-end VAT reviews and in-year management accounts production
  • Tax planning and business development planning around all of the above
  • Responsible for overseeing more junior colleagues and assisting with their development.
  • Overseeing the client workflow and staff management systems to ensure timely progression of jobs
  • Reporting into the director group on practice administration matters
  • Practice promotion and networking with clients, targets and intermediaries
  • Interacting with colleagues in our financial planning sister business to aid provision of cohesive wealth planning advice by that firm
  • Use your own initiative to resolve issues.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 4/5 years practice experience including qualification period, ideally within a general practice environment.
  • Iris / Sage 50 / Sage Online / QuickBooks Cloud / Xero / Dext / Excel knowledge is desirable, but training will be given where required.
  • An individual who can demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of current tax legislation.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Confident personality, able to mix with a range of client and colleague personalities
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and a high concern for accuracy.
  • A good team player.
  • Minimum GCSEs of C plus in Maths and English, with strong further results at GCSE and A-level (degree level education is not mandatory)
  • Driving licence
  • Ability to work between two offices on a varied client base.
