Legal Administrator
Location: Nottingham City Centre
Salary: £24,000-25,000pa
Are you an experienced administrator looking to take the next step in your legal career? We are seeking a Legal Administrator to join a well-established and busy Criminal department at a respected solicitors firm based in Nottingham city centre.
About the Role of Legal Administrator:
As a Legal Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the team and ensuring the smooth running of legal processes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and processing Legal Aid applications, including amendments
- Generating invoices upon completion of work
- Managing diaries and scheduling hearings, court dates, and meetings
- Drafting standard legal documents and correspondence
- Communicating with clients, courts, and other professionals via phone, email, and in-person
- Booking appointments and managing calendars
- Opening and closing case files, and following up on missing documents
- Organising case files for billing, ensuring all required documents are included
- Taking accurate minutes during meetings
About You:
We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and committed to delivering a high standard of administrative support. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in a legal secretarial or administrative role
- Confidence working in a fast-paced office environment
- Familiarity with Legal Aid billing systems (advantageous but not essential)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to work full-time in the office
- Previous experience in a legal setting is preferred, though full training will be provided
