Our client, a rapidly growing independent beauty brand, is seeking a Senior Product Development Manager to join their team. As the Senior Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution and management of product timelines and deliverables. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Please note that this is not a creative role.

Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Management: Ensure that all product timelines and deliverables are tracked and met, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule.
- Team Leadership and Development: Guide the product development team in taking ownership of projects, targets, and deliverables. Focus on maximising commercial metrics and meeting tight time-to-market objectives.
- Strategic Problem-Solving: Provide innovative and practical solutions that support various product development roadmaps and enhance operational efficiency.
- Sourcing Oversight: Lead the sourcing process for all products and packaging, including formulation, components, and box art. Ensure timely and cost-effective solutions.
- Bill of Materials Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs), manage cost of goods (COGs) analysis, and ensure consistency in Master Product Information (MPI).
- Dual Sourcing and Fast-Tracking: Implement strategies for dual sourcing and expedited timelines to support high-paced and complex beauty projects.
- Regulatory Documentation: Support the regulatory documentation process for EMEA and APAC regions, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and standards.
- Process Creation and Optimisation: Create and continuously improve departmental processes, ensuring they are clearly documented and effectively trained across teams.
- Operational Foundations: Build and reinforce a highly productive product operations team by establishing best industry practises and embedding good operational habits.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Lead initiatives to promote eco-friendly production practises, optimising sourcing strategies to reduce environmental impact and actively reducing carbon footprint.
- Quality Control (QC): Review and enhance pre- and post-production QC sample processes, introducing best practises to maintain high-quality standards across product lines.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on INCI reviews, packaging optimisation, and composition evaluations to support sustained excellence in product operations.
Experience and Qualifications
- Project Management Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in the FMCG or beauty industry.
- Operational Excellence: Proven ability to manage complex product timelines and multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong Leadership Skills: Experience leading teams, fostering accountability, and driving results in a collaborative environment.
- Advanced Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and maintaining up-to-date operational reports and KPIs.
- Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in BOMs, cost management, and project documentation.
- Problem-Solving: Adept at developing and implementing practical solutions to project challenges and process inefficiencies.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements for EMEA and APAC regions is highly desirable.
- Communication and Collaboration: Strong ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in project management tools and software, along with comprehensive experience using Excel and other data management programmes.
