HR Officer | Immediate Start or October 2024

Are you a proactive and experienced HR professional looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced organization? We are seeking a highly motivated HR Officer to join our team immediately or by October 2024. This role offers the chance to oversee recruitment, payroll, training, and HR administration, ensuring seamless HR operations across our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment: Lead and manage the recruitment process, from drafting job adverts to arranging interviews, conducting pre-employment checks, and onboarding new staff in line with safer recruitment standards.
  • HR Support: Provide HR support to leadership, assist with formal and informal processes, take minutes during key meetings, and prepare reports for HR committees as needed.
  • HR Records: Maintain accurate HR records, including DBS checks, CPD records, and staff appraisals, ensuring all files comply with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Absence Management: Track and monitor staff absences, managing occupational health referrals, conducting risk assessments, and supporting line managers in absence management.
  • Payroll: Process payroll data with accuracy, respond to payroll queries, and ensure all relevant forms are completed and payroll systems are up to date.
  • Staff Wellbeing: Promote staff wellbeing initiatives and offer guidance and support to team members with personal or professional issues.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: HR training or CIPD Level 3 qualification (or a willingness to work towards it) is essential, with a solid understanding of HR practices and employment law, particularly in the education or public sector.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar HR role, preferably within an educational or public sector environment. Familiarity with HR systems (SIMS, SAMpeople) and Single Central Register (SCR) management is a plus.
  • Skills: Excellent ICT skills, strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Personal Qualities: We are seeking someone with resilience, discretion, and a commitment to continuous professional development. Flexibility and adaptability to changing demands are essential.

Location: This role is based in Hayes, with parking available on site.
