Tax Semi Senior

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Tax Semi Senior to join a growing a Far East Department within a lading 16 Partner firm of Chartered Accountants. This role involves supporting the team in delivering technical tax services to their clients efficiently and accurately, in conjunction with the Partners and liaising with other teams.
Given the nature of the team's clients, fluency in Mandarin/ Cantonese is crucial.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare personal tax returns for review by Consultant/Partner.
- Assist with tax planning, projects, compliance matters, and handle client queries.
- Draft correspondence to clients for review by Consultant/Partner.
- Gain an understanding of the principles of residency, ordinary residency, domicile, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and the taxation of death estates and trusts.
- Take responsibility for the delivery of the complete tax computation and return.
- Manage compliance administration and handle quarterly and year-end processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Fluent in English, Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
- Currently working towards a Tax qualification.
- 2-3 years of experience in a relevant tax discipline.
- Ability to compute figures rapidly and accurately, and analyse and interpret financial data.
- Demonstrate awareness of relevant financial targets and constraints.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Good planning, time management, and organisational skills.
- Effective team player with excellent client liaison skills.
- Proficient in the use of business tools and IT.
