Mechanical Fitters - Gas Turbine - Rotating Early & Late Shifts - £17.67 per hour pay rate + shift allowances (11% early & 17% late shifts) - Lincoln

Are you a time served Mechanical Fitter with a minimum NVQ (or C&G) level 3?

Are you based within a commutable distance of Lincoln?

Would you be happy to work rotating early / late shifts 6am - 2:15 pm // 2:15pm - 10:15pm??

If the answers are yes, our client, one of the leading names in the world of engineering are looking to take on Mechanical fitters asap. Working with our client's Manufacturing Manager and with the Team Leaders, you would be responsible for the Stripping of the Small Gas Turbines to their sub-assembly component levels and the onward stripping of the sub-assembly components or the building and testing of the engine's combustion and associated components.

What you need:

Previous fitter experience

  • Trained or qualified as an apprentice or to an equivalent Mechanical NVQ level 3.
  • Knowledge of dismantling and overhauling components desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure components condition is as best it can be, post strip, to allow repair work, if required.
  • Strong safety and quality driven mindset and collaborative teamwork approach.

What you get in return:

£17.67 hourly pay rate + shift allowance of 11% for early shifts and 17% for late shifts

No late shifts on a Friday

Long term ongoing contract opportunity

OT readily available on a voluntary basis.

The role:

  • Use tooling and measuring equipment, in association with engineering drawings and layouts, to a high tolerance level, you will ensure that all components are salvaged to the highest standard or built and tested IAW existing processes.
  • Use lifting equipment and fixtures to complete this process and complete associated paperwork including the recording of code numbers to ensure components are within required lifing limits.
  • You should be able to discuss issues clearly with supporting departments and complete handovers to your colleagues following on from you.
  • You will be expected to maintain a high level of 5S to ensure the working area remains clean and tidy and submit process improvement ideas to support business continuous improvement initiatives.
  • High standards of quality are a must both in your fitting and paperwork.
  • Comply with both legal and company legislation and actively promote a healthy and safe working environment in line with company procedures.
  • Flexibility in shift patterns and overtime is expected to support business and customer demands.
