Recruitment is currently ongoing for the role of Highway Inspector. The Highway Inspector will carry out cyclical inspection of the adopted highway for defects, the arranging of works to remedy same, and to liaise with staff within the Company, the general public, together with the provision of services and information. Highway Inspections of the network to meet the Company's statuary duty and our Section 58 defence
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect all carriageways, footways, signs and lines.
- Identify the appropriate works required to remedy defects found upon inspection.
- Prepare works orders including supervision of contractors and their working arrangements including the preparation of designers risk assessments in accordance with the CDM Regulations to identify safe methods of working.
- Measure and certify works to allow the payment of invoices
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all inspections and works and produce such reports as may be requested in connection with the duties performed.
Educational and Training Qualification:
- 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English.
- Current Health & Safety Qualifications (e.g. IOSH, Risk Assessment)
- Accredited Highway Inspector Qualification (CSCS)
Experience/Knowledge:
- Experience in highway maintenance
- Experience of computerised systems and their applications.
- Health and safety in relation to construction
- Works ordering and certification for payment
Skills and Abilities:
- Good numerical skills
- Report writing abilities
- Oral communication skills with which to assist and advise members of the public.
- An ability to work individually demonstrating self-motivation.
- Confident and assertive, but able to prioritise and meet deadlines in a flexible manner

PAYEE - £33.00
